I’m gonna have to break it all up into a few for the next couple of weeks.
Today, I want to say thank you to everyone who joined us at Rose City Comic Con here in Portland, Oregon. It’s our hometown convention.
I had done so many local public appearances in promotion of PHENOMENA and MASTERPIECE over the summer that, at first, I was going to skip this one. I was a last-minute addition, and everyone was so warm and welcoming.
I finally got to shake hands with Daredevil, and thank him for saying nice things about us for a decade now.
Dark Horse has a major presence at the show, bringing in all of the major Dark Horse voices.
As announced, I am doing a special issue of MINOR THREATS, with award-winning illustrator Soo Lee, for Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum’s amazing new series.
It’s a very special show, because so many of us have been working in this very large comic space of Portland, Oregon together for many years now. David Walker and I have been teaching at Portland State for so long that many of our students have graduated to being professionals. It’s amazing to share these moments with everyone.
This picture means the world to me. I got to sign at the booth with three of my best friends.
And now, we're all Dark Horse creators! Kelly Sue's FML is available for pre-order right NOW! I've read it. It's amazing.
Also, David's 30th Anniversary Edition of KABUKI is coming soon from Dark Horse.

AND it’s Rose City that is the source of my free gift to you this week. I have taken to recording my panel appearances at conventions. And when they are truly fun, I share them with you.
The following is a recording of the Jack Kirby Appreciation Panel curated and hosted by Dr. Ben Saunders.
Ben is a friend, and you will be hearing his voice around here more often. Ben is an educator from the University of Oregon, and he comes at this with a fine arts and education-centered perspective. He gathered award-winning writers Christopher Priest, Mark Russell, Stephanie Williams, and myself to each pick out a piece of Jack Kirby artwork that we would like to focus on.
This panel is yearly, and has been running for a while. I have been on a few of them, and this was the best one I have ever been on. Hearing from legends like Christopher Priest, and relatively newer voices like Stephanie Williams, speak on the subject of Jack Kirby was so very interesting. Even though we are discussing visuals, I think you will easily be able to tell what we are talking about as they are described in detail.
Usually, I would put this recording behind the Powers Level here at JINXWORLD.COM, but I am sharing it with everyone because I love it, and I want you to have it, too.
