ROSE CITY! MASTERCLASS! CROSSOVERS!

So much going on this week!

First of all, to everyone who showed up in Baltimore last weekend, one of the absolute single best convention experiences of my entire life.... THANK you. You can head on over to my Instagram to see true comics joy.

Every single interaction was just above and beyond. I love you all. Thank you so much for coming out.

Even though I initially had to decline the invitation, even though my time is limited this weekend, I WILL be at Rose City Comic Con! They have been really accommodating. I will be there Friday and Saturday afternoons only, and I will be at the pedagogy panel with David Walker, Doctor Susan Kirtley, and the amazing Diana Schutz as we talk about the comics education situation in Portland. (It’s awesome.)

Speaking of, we’re all gearing up for a brand-new semester in Portland State University’s comics studies program.

I know some of you have been missing the live Masterclasses... Because we haven’t been doing them. We have been recording new classes... Behind the scenes. So, the next class is actually going to be a team-up podcast between this newsletter and Ashcan Press, Matt Rosenberg‘s online domain. Griffin and Ethan run both of our operations and put us together, and we had an awesome conversation. I loved it so much. That class is coming soon.

Also, I took it upon myself to record all of the Baltimore panels after specifically saying “yes” to craft-focused ones. I have some excellent panel discussion to post over the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned.

And yes, I’ll be recording the Rose City ones as well. I’m angry with myself for not recording all the amazing panels I’ve been to over the years. WHY? Why would I not record my times on stage with Stan or Frank Miller? Well, I got Walt Simonson talking X-Men/Teen Titans coming your way.

I’ve waited years for this.

We’re also working on new THE ONES and new JOY OPERATIONS, not to mention MURDER INC. is coming to you even as we speak.

Issue #6 is out on October 11th!
